The specimens and seed offered here come from my collection and cultivation program, with the same emphasis on provenance, habitat, and stewardship that guides Copiapoa.com.
This marks the beginning of the site's online sales program. Inventory is limited but growing, with plants, seed, literature, stickers, and collector materials added as they become available. Listings may include field-numbered plants, legacy collection material, and specimens with documented locality and provenance. Where locality information exists, its level of precision is clearly identified.
Copiapoa.com began as a passion project dedicated to research, education, cultivation, and conservation, which remain its primary purpose. Sales help support that work through ongoing research, educational content, collection development, and conservation-focused cultivation.
Whether you are drawn to Copiapoa for their beauty, rarity, cultivation challenge, or historical provenance, you are welcome here.
Copiapoa.com is a licensed California nursery (CDFA License B4386.001).
Locality and documentation
For Copiapoa, locality is more than information on a tag. Populations evolved under different conditions across the Atacama, and differences in fog, sun, exposure, elevation, slope, and substrate help explain the extraordinary range of phenotypes we see. Locality connects a plant to the environment and population that shaped it.
For that reason, listings use the same three-level documentation rating used throughout Copiapoa.com:
The rating measures the precision of the documentation, not the quality of the plant. A field number alone does not determine the level; its value depends on the locality information behind it.
Precise locality may exist without being publicly displayed. Exact sites are sometimes withheld to protect threatened populations from poaching or to protect private seed sources. Where more precise documentation exists than is shown in a listing, that will be noted when appropriate. Protected provenance is still provenance.
For collectors, the rating shows at a glance how much geographic information accompanies a plant. For conservation, precise locality can preserve the connection between cultivated material and the wild population it represents.
The map below shows the Geographic Anchors used throughout the site, placing documented specimens within their broader ecological context along the Atacama Desert coast.
If you are searching for a particular species, field number, locality, or collector plant that is not currently listed, please contact me. Not all available material is posted online, and I am happy to discuss upcoming inventory or help locate specific plants.
Copiapoa.com remains a part-time endeavor, so response times may occasionally be slower than those of a large commercial nursery.
Shipping Notice: At this time, shipping is available only within the United States. International sales are under development.
Thank you for supporting Copiapoa conservation through cultivation.

I’m significantly downsizing my Copiapoa collection with plants and seeds available in all price ranges. I have not listed those plants below, so if you are interested, send me a note.
